Respira

A blend of consumer product design and green technology, Respira is a wall-mounted biophilic air purifier that cleans indoor air through hydroponic plant roots. Paso Design served as the Product Development Engineering partner on this venture with New Earth Solutions, supporting the product from concept through to production. This collaboration involved extensive prototyping across multiple performance domains, including airflow pressure drop, humidity retention, noise levels, water circulation, and light intensity. Component sourcing, electromechanical design, and manufacturing liaison were key aspects of the engagement. Additional engineering and design efforts were give towards modifications of injection molded components, electromechanical design of the system electrical enclosure. The industrial design was championed by Tristan Zimmerman, with Paso Design playing a central role in translating vision into tested, manufacturable hardware.
