This project made use of Paso Design's electrical knowledge to develop a set of IP65 control box prototypes using for a commercial living wall system. Using off the shelf components, the box functioned as proof of concept and functional prototype while also providing feedback for electrical engineers developing the commercial solution. Active living walls are hydroponic plant systems that use forced air to draw indoor air through plant roots, filtering VOCs and improving air quality. This project centered on the electromechanical design of a control enclosure used to automate airflow, lighting, and irrigation cycles in a commercial-scale installation. The system managed arrays of fans, LED lighting, and water pumps, all timed to support continuous plant health and air purification. Work included electrical layout and wiring diagrams, power distribution planning, component sourcing, and integration into a watertight, serviceable enclosure.
